Happy Holidays everyone!

It’s that time of year and the shopping craze has hit. Hopefully you have your lists ready and you’re well on your way to checking off all the gifts you need to get. We know how easy it is to shop online, but it’s extremely important for us as community members to support our local small businesses during the holiday season. Longmont is great at supporting local businesses, and our Downtown District hosts a plethora of great shops to find gifts. Even when you shop at big box stores in town you’re still supporting locals who live and work in our area. Here’s a little inspiration to help you shop local and find the perfect gifts for your friends and family!

Downtown Longmont

  • Bookstores
Take a walk downtown and check out the book-stores. You’ll find a vast variety of new and used novels, perfect for all ages! If you have books to donate, they will even give you store credit to help save some money this holiday season. Check out:

    • Barbed Wire Books
      5th and Main
    • Used Book Emporium
      4th and Main
  • Arts & Crafts
There are many shops downtown that offer local hand-made art that’s available for purchase and gifting. You can also sign up to take classes in knitting, crocheting, dyeing, painting, and so much more right downtown. This could be an opportunity to create a personal gift for your loved ones. • Restaurants

Sometimes a gift-card to your favorite local eatery is the perfect gift. Downtown Longmont hosts many amazing local eateries that offer gift-cards. Try an hors d’oeuvre or appetizer as a treat while you’re picking up a gift-card.

  • Antiques, Gifts, & More!

One of the more unique aspects of Downtown Longmont, and potentially all over Longmont, are the shops selling Antiques and secondhand items. You’ll find some amazing gifts found almost nowhere else. Check out:

    • Mystic Sisters
      3rd and Main
    • Adornables
On 4th right off Main to the west
    • Fig & Ivy

    • Hope’s Storehouse

The Cheese Importers

The Cheese Importers is an amazing shop and cafe, with beautiful European inspired kitchenwares, books, and (of course) Cheeses! Cheese galore! If you know a Francophile or a Cheese Lover, this is the place to shop for gifts. While you’re shopping, make sure to grab a quick bite at the cafe for some authentic French style pastries.

North Main Street

If the Downtown District does not check off all your shopping needs, takes a quick drive a few blocks north and you’ll find more locally owned and operated shops scattered along your route. Check out:
